Beto O’Rourke Speaks Spanish in El Paso as Supporters Wave Mexican Flags

Supporters of failed Senate candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke brought Mexican flags to his El Paso, Texas, rally on Monday evening as the potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate spoke in both Spanish and English.

Protestors in attendance for the Trump opposition speech also held signs that read: “Immigrants Make America Great” and “BETO 2020.”

O’Rourke spoke to his crowd of supporters in both English and Spanish throughout the speech. “Sí se puede!” O’Rourke shouted to his supporters during the event.

While O’Rourke remains undecided on whether he will run for president, 2020 merchandise was for sale at the event. The unofficial merchandise included buttons and T-shirts.

As President Trump also spoke in El Paso, at the same time O’Rourke was on stage, he taunted O’Rourke and mocked his crowd size.

“A young man who has very little going for himself except he’s got a great first name,” Trump stated. “He challenged us. So we have, let’s say, 35,000 people tonight and he has 200 people, 300 people, not too good.”

Trump added, “What I would say is that may be the end of his presidential bid, but he did challenge us.”
