The video footage shows men waiting expectantly as an announcer speaking with an Australian accent counts down from 10. Suddenly a blast occurs. The sheer force of the blast ripples and reverberates through the jungle, obliterating trees in its path. It was July 18th, 1963, and, although never confirmed, it was rumored that the Australians were simulating the effects of a nuclear device set off in the jungle. It was codenamed Operation Blowdown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQUQt7KE6ls
