Does Ozzy Osbourne’s New Song Reveal The Hopelessness Of Our Generation? (Watch Music Video Here)

Ozzy Osbourne has long been known for such deeply macabre subject matter in his musical creations, & we wouldn’t be surprised if his new 2020 album, ‘Ordinary Man,’ is comprised of the same dark themes.

As a tantalizing foretaste, he recently released his first single in 9 years, ‘Under The Graveyard;’ also the first track on his fresh collection.

Although the title seems appropriate for an Osbourne invention, the lyrics tell a more personal story of Ozzy’s geriatric despair, feeling his days on Earth approach their bitter end.

I won’t do a comprehensive analysis of each syllable in his song, but merely a few lines will provide you with the general aura of Ozzy’s outlook for the future.

Verse 1:

Today, I woke up and I hate myself
Death doesn’t answer when I cry for help
No high could save me from the depths of Hell
I’ll drown my mind until I’m someone else

Notice he is waiting for DEATH to answer, instead of a positive, all powerful savior who can heed his cry for help. Do you suppose Ozzy was not exposed to a consistent flow of God’s promises to humans, on a personal level?

Also, pay special attention to his admission that all the tools of his revelry, the drugs, alcohol, & women, CANNOT SAVE HIM from the depths of this angst he calls Hell.

Then, taking these horrific imaginations, he builds a hopeless philosophy in the chorus.

Under the graveyard
We’re all rotting bones

Everything you are
Can’t take it when you go

It’s cold in the graveyard
We all die alone

Listen To ‘Under The Graveyard’ Below:

Given the current societal world view that humanity lacks value & meaning, carefully crafted by centuries of atheistic delusionaries who delight in disbelief, I don’t blame Ozzy Osbourne for his fictional fears.

But the true crisis rests upon the fact that Ozzy is just one messenger for this corrupt idea that we are all merely an accident of nature, dissolving into dust.

At some point, we all face our mortality & try to cope with this daunting event with the greatest grace we can conjure.

Before the 19th century, civilization coped very well, leaning upon the immortal words of God, written in the most reliable ancient text which holds the key to our eternity.

Inexplicably, this all changed when a few malcontent flies in the ointment began to poison the well of truth with lies from the Devil himself.

God killers like Friedrich Nietzsche & Karl Marx fed the flames of atheism, using Charles Darwin’s new, & still unproven theory of evolution to claim that only chance, & not an intelligent designer, made everything we experience today.

Back in the early days of this emerging philosophy, only a small fraction of the world bought into such nonsense, but over time, through much hard work & persistence, these monsters managed to dupe the lion’s share of humanity into believing atheism religiously.

Relying upon our ignorance of the overwhelming evidence AGAINST evolution & FOR the resurrection of Jesus Christ, they forged ahead until this very day, when the predominant voices of our society are repeating their empty message of hopelessness.

Despite this bleak outlook, let’s give Ozzy Osbourne the prognosis he so desperately needs…

Often overlooked is the Bible’s most famous verse, which answers our desire for complete, everlasting fulfillment.

Jesus said:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

THIS is the hopeful promise that God gave mankind, & accepted by billions of people throughout the past 2 millennia.

So, Ozzy,

The REAL YOU is NOT rotting bones. Only your corruptible flesh is consumed.

When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: Death has been swallowed up in victory.

1 Corinthians 15:54

The most important part of you: your soul & spirit, DOES GO WITH YOU into eternity.

We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8

& although the graveyard is cold, YOU do NOT die alone.

Jesus says,

and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

Matthew 28:20

If you place your trust in JESUS, the one who sacrificed his own life on Earth to save you, He will be right by your side as you escape the bounds of your broken bones & join Him into eternity.

My urgent request to Ozzy Osbourne & whosoever:

Please turn to Christ, & ask Him to forgive your transgressions, giving you a new life of inner peace & unbounded hope.

For this simple, powerful act of your heart, God will make you a new person, looking forward to the day when you meet Him face to face…
