Man Stands Outside ER With Tears Streaming Down His Face Holding Up A Sign In The Window

Healthcare workers are heroes.

They work tirelessly putting themselves in harms way, to other people’s lives.

Allison Swendsen is one of these incredible people risking their lives for others. As an ER nurse, she’s on the front lines at New Jersey’s Morristown Medical Center.

Back on March 25th, Allison was working in triage when she heard a knock coming from the window. When she looked over she saw an elderly man who had tears streaming down his cheeks. He then held up a simple cardboard sign and placed it against the window.  The sign read, “Thank you all in emergency for saving my wife’s life. I love you all.”

Allison took a photo of his powerful message and shared it with his permission on Facebook.

“I peeked out the door and asked him how his wife was,” she wrote on facebook. “He said, ‘Great, she is going home today. You are all amazing.’ I don’t know him, I don’t know his wife, but throughout the last 13 years as a nurse, I realized, this is why we do it — times are tough, but we make a difference. I love my team.”

Please pray for every healthcare worker out their putting themselves at risks and taking time away from their families so others can one day return to theirs.
