The Voice season 19 contestant Ryan Gallagher has left the show after breaking the production’s COVID-19 protocols, Billboard can confirm.
Host Carson Daly announced Gallagher’s exit Monday night when the live shows officially kicked off. The 31-year-old classically trained musician from Ada, Mich., who was representing Kelly Clarkson‘s team, failed to secure the last spot in the top 17.
While Daly didn’t share a specific reason for Gallagher’s absence during the broadcast, Billboard can confirm that Gallagher violated the show’s coronavirus protocols and could no longer continue in the competition out of caution for the health and safety of the coaches, contestants and crew.
