Sex offenders previously removed from the country by immigration officers continue to exploit outdated or incomplete border walls to regain entry into the U.S. El Centro Border Patrol Sector agents apprehended eight such offenders this fiscal year who illegally crossed into Southern California. Two members of the Texas House of Representatives are preparing a bill that would provide $2.5 billion to fund a border wall. December 2018 Broke Record for Migrant Families Apprehended Between U.S. Border Checkpoints

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reports the number of Family Unit Aliens who were apprehended by Border Patrol agents after crossing between ports of entry climbed to a record-breaking 27,518 in December 2018.
