Former shock jock Howard Stern is now claiming that he is not woke and doesnāt even know what that word means. Amazing.
This comes after weeks of speculation over the summer that he may not be renewed for a new contract with the Sirius network. Sternās audience has dwindled to shockingly low numbers in recent years, which most people attribute to his newfound wokeness and the fact that he basically abandoned his show during the Covid-19 lockdowns.
For him to play word games now and pretend not to know what woke means is just absurd.

Shock jock radio host Howard Stern balked Thursday at claims he has gone āwokeā amid rumors of his retirement, arguing both are untrue.
Stern was once on the cutting-edge of shock-jock radio, famously sparring with the FCC for decades to defend his raunchy and politically incorrect show. In later years, Stern was accused of losing the very devil-may-care approach to humor that led to his rise in the first place. This has been a repeated claim over the years as have been rumors of his retirement.
āI was on vacation, and the next thing I know, I was in āStephen Colbert landā where I was being thrown off by the FCC somehow. I donāt know what, whatever it was or because Iām too woke. ā¦ Too woke? I donāt even know what a āwokeā is. What is woke?ā Stern asked.
āIf Iām too woke, the world has turned upside down,ā Stern claimed. āI mean, the stuff I do and talk about, I donāt even know what that means. But you know what? If it means Iām awakened, God bless.ā
Fellow radio host Andy Cohen suggested the accusation āmight mean that you care about other people.ā
Thatās not what woke means and these people know that.
Also, back in 2023, Stern angrily claimed that he was woke.
